bachelorette finale

bachelorette finale
Despite a last ditch appeal from Reid Rosenthal, who was eliminated last week but came back to try to propose in the finale, Jillian Harris went ahead and chose another guy who left but came back, Ed Swiderski, in the finale of "The Bachelorette" Monday.

It was Swiderski who left midway through the season, when there was still a pack of guys Harris was pawing over. He was concerned about losing his job. Harris was upset about his going (because it was his idea and not her's?) and gladly accepted him back when he changed his mind (seems like rules have changed in this show so that leaving and coming back is allowed if it makes good TV).

Runner up was Kiptyn Locke, who claimed he had his heart broken for the first time in his life.

It's a strange little dance they do on "The Bachelorette" that's different than the main show "The Bachelor." She picks the guy, but he proposes to her - or rather she picks the guy that will propose to her (there hasn't been a scene of a woman proposing to a guy quite yet).

For the finale Jillian, who came in third in the last go-round of "The Bachelor," not only had two guys ready to marry her, she had three, with the ill-fated return of Reid.

It may all set the stage for Kiptyn as taking the central role in the next season of "The Bachelor." But I think it's about time they started fresh - the last few seasons have involved rejected former candidates doing the choosing themselves.
