new york city triathlon
Though it's too late to register for the rigorous Nautica New York City Triathlon (not to mention start training), it's a whole lot of fun to watch. This year, more than 3,000 athletes will compete in the Olympic distance race—swimming 1,500 meters in the Hudson, biking 40K along the West Side Highway, and running a 10K in Central Park. To catch the beginning of the swim, head over to Riverside Park and 98th Street; the cycling start will be at Riverside Park and 79th Street; and the run course is along 72nd Street from Henry Hudson Parkway to Central Park West. If 5:50 a.m. sounds too early for you to be at the starting line, catch the grand finish at Dead Road in Central Park, west of the bandshell on the 72nd Street Transverse.
